AJ and Kiara's love story began in 2010 when they first met at Ambar Niteclub, where AJ was working as a glassy and Kiara was a patron. As they watched the other patrons in the club, they bonded over their shared sense of humor and witty observations. Little did they know that this chance encounter would lead to a love story for the ages.

Their first 'date' was at Kelly's house, where Kiara still lived. Armed with a box of Maltesers, AJ arrived later in the evening, after he had finished work. They spent the night snacking on chocolate and watching The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, a phenomenon widely known today as Netflix and Chill. Although their relationship started as a fling, and their lives went in separate directions, there always seemed to be an underlying force causing their paths to cross at different stages throughout the years, including at one stage when AJ's mum became the property manager for the rental Kiara was in. They started seeing each other more in 2018, but their love really started to bloom in late 2020 amidst the COVID pandemic. It was then that, once again, the love of a TV show #BlackAF brought their 2010 style of love into the Netflix and Chill age.

Despite a few false starts, and in the midst of the world going mad, their love went from strength to strength, and it wasn't long until the Sunday dinners at Kiara's became an everyday dinner together at home. They went on to buy their first house, adopt their first puppy, and take their first trip overseas together before growing their fur family, giving Kylo a brother, Kenobi (a compromise of Kiara's love for the Kardashians and AJ's love of Star Wars).

Determined to make Kiara his forever love, AJ planned several elaborate proposals, including a trip to Barcelona, training the puppies to somehow ask her, and even a rocket to the moon. However, in the end, he went back to his roots and popped the question with a simple note in a box of Maltesers that read, "My love, my alway, will you marry me?" (even with the misspelling).

This love story spans 13 years and is one of happiness, humor, adoration, love, and a deep connection that has ultimately led to this moment in time. AJ and Kiara are grateful that they get to start the beginning of their married life in the company of their family and closest friends.
